Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (Kongsberg PCS; Dayton, OH) has reached a partnership agreement with software developer PrintFactory, which will create a workflow platform specifically for Kongsberg cutting tables.
PrintFactory offers production software for the print and finishing industry that handles repetitive tasks using network apps, smart tools and XML instructions to increase production speed.
The software includes several features specific to Kongsberg users, including:
- Ability to export files as zipped JDFs (job definition format) for cutting
- QR code support for automated workflow in Kongsberg’s iPC
- Offset to first registration mark for automatic production and correct cut file orientation
- Substrate name is included in the cut file for “Material is key” function in iPC
In a release, Kongsberg PCS President Stuart Fox said the company has plans to work with PrintFactory on additional features in the coming months.
